It never ceases to amaze us how it can be possible to produce a filter coffee machine at his kind of price. We are talking about the price of a couple of Pizzas.
This is where coffee machines meet Primark. Primark has become hugely popular for ultra-cheap clothing that can almost be classified as disposable. You can buy a t-shirt for a few pounds and if it only lasts a couple of months that’s fine.

If it lasts you for 1 year then it works out at a couple of pounds per month. That’s less than the price of a single cup of coffee at one of the high street coffee chains.
This really is selling at an unbelievably low price for a product that can deliver coffee that beats instant coffee every time.
At this price it would be fair to ask if it does actually deliver a decent cup of coffee. Let’s find out.

Design 8/10
At this kind of price you can’t really expect there to have been much thought given to how it’s going to look but incredibly they have done a good job and even managed to put some chrome banding onto the base of the filter door and the base of the jug that holds the coffee.
The combination of black and chrome all over certainly makes it look like an appliance that is worth an awful lot more than what it is selling for.
You can keep it out on the kitchen worktop without the fear of it looking like something that is naff.
This has a pretty small footprint measuring in at 24cm deep, 18cm wide and 31.5cm tall so it pretty much going to fit into any space that you need it to.
Functionality 9/10
As you go up through the pricing there is a whole host of functionality that you can get with filter coffee machines such as digital controls and special thermal flasks and fully programmable and special mechanisms for delivering coffee in an optimum way.
With this filter coffee machine, you don’t get any of that. At this price what you want is something that does what it is supposed to do which in this case is delivering a decent cup of coffee
This is a bog-standard, no-frill appliance that is most suited for anyone looking for an easy, uncomplicated, low-cost method to get coffee that tastes better than instant.
Surprisingly, you do actually get a bunch of features that we would not expect for something so cheap.
Before we even get to the coffee machine itself, included is a 1.5-litre coffee carafe that if bought separately could easily cost north of a tenner on its own! That fact alone makes the overall price even more astonishing.
Coffee starts to lose the quality of its flavour after around 40 minutes so the hotplate will turn off after this amount of time. We recommend only brewing what you expect to drink within the hour. If you want to keep it hot for longer just turn it back on again.
It comes with an anti-drip function! If you are in the middle of brewing say 6 cups of coffee but you fancy a cup before it’s finished then you can take the coffee jug out and pour yourself a cup without any coffee dripping onto the hotplate for up to 30 seconds. An excellent function at this price.
No paper filters are required. These do come at a cost that some people want to avoid, however, some argue that paper filters are better because you can just remove them and dispose of the filter and coffee all in one foul swoop.
This comes with a nylon filter that can easily be removed and emptied but you will need to run it under some water to get all of the used coffee grounds out ready for the next brew.
A nice little feature here that makes things easier for you is that the filter comes with a handle for easy removal. Some filter coffee machines at this price have no handle and you have to fiddle about to get the filter out.
You can program the time you would like it to brew if you want to come down to fresh coffee in the morning and even choose the strength of coffee you would like.
It also has anti-slip feet which is a nice little safety feature. It’s not going to slip around on your worktop and a small accidental knock will still keep it rooted to the spot.
We have saved the best feature until last. Incredibly this filter coffee machine comes with a 24 month warranty. Any anything goes wrong in the first 2 years then they will replace it for you.
Ease of use 10/10
Add some water, add some coffee and turn it on and let it do its thing. It doesn’t really get any easier than that.
Ignore the water gauge on the side that shows how many cups you will get, it’s always wrong on most filter machines.
Just fill up a mug and pour it in, that way you know that you will get roughly that much out. It will be a little less because the coffee will absorb some water.
Use about one heaped teaspoon of ground coffee for each mug of coffee. You can vary this depending on how mild or strong you like your coffee.
Quality of coffee 9/10
This is a cheap coffee machine but it doesn’t mean that you have to use cheap coffee. If you spend a little bit more for the better stuff then I guarantee that you will notice the difference.
Value For Money 10/10
With the 24 month warranty that comes with the Geepas filter coffee machine its hard to argue that it offers amazing value for money.
It does what it says on the tin which is make a good cup of coffee and it easy to use with a simple one-touch operation to start and brew
At this price, you can’t ask for more. A great buy if you don’t want to spend much money.
