This is a wonderful way to sample a wide range of different types of coffee from around the world in a beautifully presented cloth bag.
This is much more than just a bunch of different coffees bundled together and sent out for you to sample.
This is very much an experience and an education in coffee to be thoroughly enjoyed on 10 different occasions by several people at the same time or if it’s just for one person then you can enjoy 20 or more different tastings from the quantity of coffee provided.
Each coffee contained with each packet has been pre-ground for convenience for anyone that wants to just pour the coffee straight out of each packet into your brewing method of choice.
These will work well with all coffee machines and particularly well for anyone that enjoys making their coffee with a cafetiere.
They are also available in whole bean form for you to grind yourself. You can find the review for those here:
What do you get?
A presentation bag. All of the coffee comes inside a small cloth coffee bag that resembles the large bags that coffee comes in before it gets roasted.
It’s tied at the top with string ready to be opened and explored. The way the coffee has been packaged with this presentation bag makes it absolutely perfect as a gift for any coffee lover at any time of the year.
Equally, despite the way the coffee is packed and the detailed information they provide on each coffee and the presentation bag, the price is so attractive that it also makes a great purchase as a treat for yourself to sample lots of different coffee from different countries without paying out a lot of money on one particular coffee that you may not like.
There are so many different types of coffee from many different countries all around the world and they all taste completely different in a similar way to wine.
We are creatures of habit and when we find a coffee we like we tend to stick to it but that means you are missing out on so much but it’s difficult to know what to buy and you can end up spending quite a lot of money on something you don’t like.
With this tasting bag, you get to taste a small amount in each pack and if you don’t like a few of them then there has been no big outlay and you can mark that country off as one that doesn’t suit your taste.
If you find a few you like then you can safely invest in a bigger bag of coffee from that country in the knowledge that you like the beans from that region of the world.
An information book. Each order contains a booklet printed on high-quality card that provides an explanation about each coffee, where it’s from and what you can expect from it in terms of flavour profile and aroma.
Knowing about the coffee before you drink it adds a lot to the overall experience and also helps you understand what kind of coffee you like so that you can buy the coffee you enjoy the most.
The coffee. Each bag comes with 10 packets of coffee and each packet contains 60 grams of ground coffee ready to be added straight to your coffee maker or machine.
Some of the ten different countries contained within each packet are Kenya, South Africa, Indonesia, Vietnam, Colombia, Sumatra, Costa Rica and Brazil.
To give you an idea of how many cups of coffee you can expect to get from each packet, if you are using a cafetière we recommend using 60 grams of coffee for 1 litre of coffee.
So if there are two of you giving each packet a try then you can use 30 grams of coffee for 2 x 250ml mug of coffee and therefore you would get 4 mugs of coffee from 1 packet and 40 cups of coffee in total from the entire tasting bag.
Considering you get the information booklet and the presentation bag as well that makes this tremendous value for money.
This is a wonderful low-cost way to experience coffee from around the world.
